Very few fighters go into the ring without some sort of injury, its part of training. This episode starts with Matt Arroyo injuring his ribs during pre match training. Arroyo is given the opportunity to fight and he doesn't take it because of injury. Dana White even let Arroyo know that this would kill his chances in the future and he still wouldn't fight. While the contract isn't the greatest, 3 fights a year for 3 years at 100k its the only way to really make a good entrance into the
UFC. So with Arroyo's failure to continue, Team Serra is given the opportunity to show their metal and step up. Again it is amazing how many of these guys don't actually want to fight. In the end it is given to John Kolsci, he is the only one that shows enough heart to fight Danzig and for a second time.
This fight started with a sharp thai kick by Kolsci. Which was followed by a wild few thai kicks with one leaving him so off balance he stumbles to the ground. Kolsci tried for the knockout with every kick. Danzig stalks Kolsci and takes it all in stride and keeps a steady front. Kolsci catches one of Danzig's only kicks but eats tons of quick punches to the head and quickly releases. While Kolsci recovers from the blizzard of punches he is forced to the fence. Danzig forces Kolsci to the ground with a easy take down. As Danzig moves to Kolsci's back, Kolsci latches onto Danzig's arm and holds him there until the final minutes of the first round. With only 32 seconds left in the first, Danzig sinks a rear naked choked for a win. Within a year Danzig will be in title contention.
