It's easy in the word of professional sports to lose focus. The sport itself becomes a means and an end, and becoming successful in it is all that seems to matter. Fortunately there are those who take the time to use sports as a way of helping others and a way of getting to know ourselves. Phillip Koon, of Black Mat MMA, is one of those people. |

Benji Radach has waited a long time for his shot at an MMA title. It wasn't so long ago that it looked like he might never get the chance. His almost comical string of misfortunes ranged from spider bites to knee infections, but it all began with a broken jaw that cost him a victory in a fight against Team Quest's Chris Leben. |

It was labeled "Fight of the Year" by some, and the best match in the history of the IFL by others. It's only fitting that the IFL ends 2007 with a rematch between Chris Horodecki and Shad Lierley, this time for the lightweight championship belt. |
