 UFC 82: Pride of a Champion was a mixed martial arts (MMA) event promoted by the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) that took place on March 1, 2008 at the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio.
The main event was a UFC & Pride FC middleweight title unification match between UFC champion Anderson Silva and PRIDE FC Welterweight champion Dan Henderson. The event also included a welterweight matchup between Jon Fitch and Chris Wilson. Also included were bouts featuring Andre Arlovski,Chris Leben, and Josh Koscheck
At the event, former UFC Heavyweight Champion Mark Coleman was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame. Also, it was announced that Chuck Liddell would return at UFC 85 in London, England.

This is an amateur bout. But the outcome is no less important to them. Win in the amateurs and professional fights will follow. Win in the professional ranks and money and fame may follow. |
